The Saudi Sport Culture Federation has organized the 1st Scientific Symposium “Promotion of the Sport Culture in Cooperation with Sport Federation” on Wednesday 24/10/1443 H corresponding to 25/10/2022, via Zoom platform.
The symposium was opened by the president of the Saudi Sport Culture Federation, Dr. Suleiman Omar Al-Jaloud, who began his key speech by welcoming all presidents of sport federations, their representatives, and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the rest of the attendees. He extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports; Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and his deputy for the approval of holding this scientific symposium and their great and continuous support for all sport activities, which helped achieve many of the strategic objectives of the sport federations.
The Saudi Sport Culture Federation, by holding the scientific symposiums and conferences and the various events aims to promote sport awareness, and accentuate the importance of sport to society in terms of economic, health and psychological aspects. In addition, the Saudi Sport Culture Federation is keen on developing its available intellectual capital and multiplying its capabilities, and that the federation is trying to motivate athletes by exerting more efforts to advance the sport reality, and to develop their skills and their abilities in the field of thinking, management and strategic planning.
The first session presided by Dr. Muhammad Issa Al-Saeed, the Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomechanics and Motor Behavior, at the College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity. Its axis revolved about the Saudi vision for Sport Culture.
Speakers addressed the following topics:
o “Vision and objectives of the Saudi Sport Culture Federation” by Prof. Abdullah Hamed Al-Lehaibi, Vice Deanship for Development and Quality, at the College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity.
o “The Role of the Saudi Sport Culture Federation with the Saudi Federations” for Dr. Muhammad Saad Al-Dosari, Assistant Professor, at the Department of Biomechanics and Motor Behavior, College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity.
o “Initiatives of the Strategic Plan of the Saudi Sport Culture Federation in cooperation with Sport Federations”: Dr. Waad Abdul Rahman Al-Fawaz, Assistant Dean of the College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity for Development and Quality.
The session was concluded with some discussions, interventions and answers to the audience's questions. Before the launch of the second session, a documentary film about the Saudi Sport Culture Federation was shown.
The second session started with the speakers discussing the following topics:
o The Impact of the Media on Sport Culture by professor Adel Bakhit Al-Zahrani.
o The Soft power and Public Diplomacy through Sport Culture by Mr. Faisal Salman Al-Huwayel.
o Sport Culture and Lifestyle by Dr. Khaled Saad Al-Jaloud; Associate Professor, at the Department of Physical Exercise Physiology, College of Sports Sciences and Physical Activity.
The session was concluded with a number of discussions and interventions, answering questions and inquiries of attendees.
The scientific symposium ended up with extending thanks and gratitude to speakers, guests and the attendees.
